FAQ

Our Products

  • Why do some of your creams leave white streaks?

These are mineral screen powders that can leave white streaks. This is the natural colour of mineral filters. Our ECO SUN 100% Mineral SPF50+ range and our Sun Sticks SPF 50+ contain mineral screens of natural origin without nanoparticles. With immediate effectiveness, they are very well tolerated by all skin types and effectively block rays in addition to being recognized for their minimal impact on the environment.
We are constantly working to improve the dispersion of the mineral filters and minimize whiteout without compromising our formulation beliefs. The amount of product and the method of application are important factors in the final appearance on the skin.
  • Are your products tested on animals?

All made in France, none of the SeventyOne Percent products are tested on animals. Cruelty Free, we prefer animals in the wild rather than in labs.

  • Are your sun protection products suitable for children: at what age?

All our products can be used from the age of 3 years and we recommend that the whole family prefers SPF50 + Very High Protection.

The Sun Stick range has been specially designed and dermatologically tested to be suitable for children under 3 years of age (avoid lips) and pregnant women.

It is strongly recommended to avoid exposing young children to the sun by using a textile protection.
Pro tips for the youngest: Use sweet almond oil or our Second skin balm oil to remove with a soft cotton pad any sunscreen residue that may remain on your little ones' skin. Our creams are very resistant.
  • How to remove traces of sunscreen?

If after showering you still have visible residues of white or coloured filters, you can use sweet almond oil or our Second skin balm oil to remove with a soft cotton pad any residues of sun filters that may remain on your little ones' skin. Our creams are very resistant.

  • Are you vegan?

80% of the SeventyOne Percent range is VEGAN.

The multi-purpose magic balm Second Skin contains beeswax for its emollient and film-forming virtues. It softens and smoothes the skin and produces a light continuous film on the skin, hair and nails.
  • What is the difference between chemical and mineral filters?

Mineral screens provide protection across the full spectrum of UV rays by forming a protective layer that acts as a barrier between the sun and the skin. Chemical filters have a protective action with and on the skin.

Mineral screens are also called physical filters because of their covering power. These filters, NON NANO, are zinc oxide and titanium dioxide.
Chemical filters penetrate the epidermis and create a filtering layer that absorbs UV rays. Active and effective between 20 to 30 minutes after application. Not all chemical filters are the same and the choice of these filters is essential in a clean beauty approach to respect consumers and the environment.
Filters are banned from all our compositions: oxybenzone, octinoxate, octocrylene but also endocrine disruptors, silicones, parabens ... 0% undesirable!

SeventyOne Percent

  • SeventyOne Percent is a brand only for surfers?

Our products are designed for the whole family and all outdoor activities, from the beach to the mountains to the city.

Thought and developed by surfers, the leitmotiv of product development is the effectiveness of the formulas, respect for consumers and nature. We are all Seventy One Percent.
  • Why SeventyOne Percent?

SeventyOne Percent was born out of an observation between two friends who were passionate about surfing. There were no products that corresponded to their specific needs and that were as respectful of mankind as they were of the environment.
SeventyOne Percent's mission is in its name: 70% water covers the earth, 70% water makes up the human body and 1% of the profits are donated to an association specialising in child sponsorship and access to water. (World Vision)
  • Where are your products made?

All SeventyOne Percent products are manufactured and formulated in France. This is a choice that corresponds to our values in terms of quality and our convictions as entrepreneurs.

Sun Tips

  • What does SPF mean?

The "Sun Protection Factor" is the sun protection factor of the product. In Europe, these protection indexes are regulated by the index that determines the capacity to protect the skin from UVB rays, which are responsible for sunburn.

  • How do I wash sunscreen stains?

It is essential to use an effective sunscreen that is adapted to your environment! ...but sunscreen formulas can stain clothes.

Conceived for a long-lasting effectiveness on the skin, our sun protections can penetrate the fibres of certain fabrics because of their greasy and water-free composition.
    Our advice :
Scrub before washing in the machine with dishwashing liquid. You can also use Marseille soap, Terre de Sommière or a stain remover spray before washing to remove stains. Phew :)
To avoid stains on clothes :
Apply the product and let it penetrate before getting dressed.

Prefer clothes made of cotton or natural materials to synthetic materials that are more difficult to stain.
